You'll need these, possibly sooner than later

These are direct replacement bearings for the SilverSport 2 that my family member relies upon. We needed these after owning the wheelchair for 4 months. Unfortunately, the manufacturer was no help, insisting that the three-year warranty applies only to the frame and not to the rest of the wheelchair (like the bearings for the WHEELS!).
Fortunately, HME had this in stock and shipped it promptly. These are easy to replace on the Silver Sport 2 (I can't speak to the other models).
You'll need to order two (2) of these for each wheel, as there is one on the outside and one on the inside of the wheel. We knew ours needed replacing because that wheel squeaked loudly and the wheelchair would pull – a lot – to one side when coasting.
There were no instructions, you simply remove the plastic can on the nut and use two wrenches to remove the bolt that holds the wheel to the bearings. One of the bearings was completely shot and the other was in bad shape, so I wasn't choosy about how I removed them.
When disassembling, be sure to catch the metal tube that goes between the bearings, you'll need it and the bolt and nut to reattach the wheel. The replacement bearings press into place. The metal covering the ball bearings is thin and bendable, so don't pound on it!
In short, a vital product that works well. I am hoping the replacement part is more durable than the original.
